Thirty-Year Plan

Orion asked thirty writers and thinkers to name one thing we will increasingly need over the next thirty years if humans are going to find a way to live happily, sustainably, redeemably on earth. The result is a fascinating little book featuring essays by Ralph Nader, Diane Ackerman, Carl Safina, Pete Seeger and many others.  My contribution is titled “Empty Pockets.”

  1. A friend says you’re a genius and I Must read your work! Are the nature notes your own comments? They’re terrific. The pharmaceuticals are also after horeshoe crabs. As are, well, whoever thinks a dash of crab restores manlinesss.

  2. I am just learning about the 30 year plan for the first time now. But as a true literature junky, I cannot wait to ready it!
